Bonnie’s powers are a crucial part of both L.J. Smith’s novels and the CW’s TVD TV series, but sometimes having the gift of psychic abilities seems like a downright downer.
In The Struggle, Bonnie accidently ruins a family meal at Elena’s house when she stares into the candle light at the dinner table and says “Death is in this house.” An awkward moment like that makes being a witch …and dinner … seem pretty unappetizing.
Although Bonnie sometimes fears using her powers, she ultimately accepts them and agrees to use them when it’s necessary. If you were Bonnie, would you see it all as a gift or as a curse?

I would LOVE to have some sort supernatural powers or be a witch like Bonnie. I think she should continue to embrace them and use them for good and finding her strength and voice.

i was just reading the comments for VD and i have read the comments about twilight and vampire diaries.. well in my opinion i believe they both great stories.. well for one their main story is about love between human and vampire. it is just that in twilight author concentrated to vampire story, strength, how vampire and werewolf can be also great allies and struggle to keep or protect bella from the other vampires who wanted her.. while in VD author did not concentrated in just the whole story in vampire she also put there fighting w/ other forces and added witchcraft in the story and also protect the whole town.. and in twilight bella got her powers when she became a vampire coz at first its only herself who cannot be harm by vampire whose using their powers mentally.. while in VD elena got powers when she got her 3rd life.. my point in here is that both of them are great stories and both are in the same level when it comes to favoritism.. and since their story are far more different from each other [i mean the scene] they can even be consolidated[Twilight of The Vampire Diaries].. i am already thinking of a good story.. hehe.. i haven’t seen the tv series of VD but based on what i’ve heard they are different from what is on the book.. well it will be much appreciated if season 2 will be the same as it is on the book.. imagination is fine but it is super fine if you can also see how it happen.. [JUST SHARING MY OPINION].. *peace*

if i have the power just like bonnie’s i won’t think of it as a curse most especially if i know for a fact that it runs to our family.. well of course at first ill be afraid a little but i won’t think of it as a curse but rather as a gift..

I would love to have Bonnie’s powers they are really cool but I still understand why Bonnie would be scared of them too.I think that Bonnie made the right choice in the Fury to keep her powers so I would probably say that I think the powers are gift not a curse.

Bonnie’s powers are gifts but can be a curse also. In the book and the tv show Bonnie uses her powers for good by protecting the ones she loves. However in the tv show Emily (Bonnie’s ancestor) was possessing Bonnie in order for something. I think her powers could be a curse also because something could also try to posses Bonnie. Her powers are also gifts because she uses them for good and not evil and if she is possessed she could use them for evil. Soooo technically it depends on how she uses her powers.
