If you watched The Vampire Diaries last night, you know that Elena’s mother-daughter reunion left her in tears. Isobel’s maternal instincts seem to have died when she turned, but she is right about one thing: Damon loves Elena. We just hope that’s where her motherly instincts stop, because Isobel also predicts that Elena (like Katherine) is doomed as long as she has a “Salvatore brother on each arm.” It’s true that Elena’s life hasn’t exactly been safe and sound with the Salvatores around and history does have a way of repeating itself, but Stefan says he won’t let anything bad to happen to Elena. Famous last words?

LOVED this episode!! Probably one of the best ones out of them all! I ended up watching it again. I even enjoyed watching Mia Kirshner’s character play Elena’s outwardly evil and uncaring mother. Every line she delivered was entertaining. Also, I could really feel Alaric’s pain and disbelief at seeing his now vampire wife after all those painful years. His acting was great. And Damon just keeps getting better and better and more sinfully gorgeous. I’m happy to see Bonnie again and I can’t wait to see what happens. I know she “hates” Damon right now, but I wanna see them get together already!! I love the tension between them.

I really loved this episode, but i officially hate bonnie. i dont care if thats what her grandmother thought was right, her grandmother is gone now, and the only person she has left that can even come close to understanding anything about her crazy life would be elana. and for her to go off and do that to her best friend is…. beyond unforgivable. and everybody is saying ” i hope damon and stefan dont die” but if they do they might as well not make anymore episodes? there would be no point to the show? unless theres some twist like there was in the books when elana came back to life. so i dont think that’ll happen but something HUGE willlll. oh and that stupid “tool” that kills vampires, should kill all the vamps. in the tomb then it should be destroyed! and i honostly dont like isobel either, she may care about elana deep…. deepppppp down inside, but shes not a mother in any kind of way…. they should just kick her out of the show some how and bring katherine back to town, that would be intrestinggg. and as for anna and jeremy… they need to stick together. but i cant wait for next weeks episode! and i hope theres another season… pretty please(:

I freakin love this show. The plot AND the Script is brilliant, props to the folks behind the show. This last episode was the greatest since the episode after the tomb was opened. Really didn’t expect Elena’s mom to be so heartless. Can’t wait for season finale this Friday but then again it’ll be a dreadful wait until Season 2.

I just checked IMDB.com and it lists Meredith as a character! I don’t know how she is going to fit into the picture with Alaric seeing Jenna and everything, but it’s still exciting! And I thought Isobel’s mother was a complete jerk and she shouldn’t try and destroy her relationship with Stefan or Damon. Also, what the heck is with Bonnie? What a great friend to Elena.

OMG!!! I was totally fooled that Isobel was evil with absolutely no redeeming qualities! I also thought Damon would fall for her! But he didn’t and after seeing the end of the previous episode, I could see that Isobel really does care for Elena. She wants Stefan and Damon dead, but for Elena’s own good… so I guess that’s cool. Still, I hope Damon doesn’t die. Maybe I’d be okay is Stefan was killed, but they NEED Damon in the T.V. show for the next season. And BTW: Bonnie is such a b*tch!!! I can’t believe she didn’t disenchant the vampire weapon! She totally blew it! Elena will never trust her again and Damon will never trust Elena again and their relationship will be ruined!!! okay seriously, I went over about five hundred times when Isobel said, “Because he loves you.” I was literally screaming with joy for like 10 minutes. I LOVE DAMON AND ELENA <3 I noticed that when Elena looked into Damon's eyes, he would not break contact, but when Stefan looked into his eyes, he looked everywhere but Stefan's eyes. I don’t think Stefan will be able to protect Elena forever. Just like in the book and the TV shows, Elena loves Stefan with a burning passion and she would do anything for Stefan to be alive even if it costs her her life. Elena is a strong independent girl that will do anything that she wants and right now all she wants is Stefan.

I loved this week’s episode(even though i love every episode from Vampire Diaries). The Mom-ster, Isobel ( Elena’s mom), is very mean but she gives a new twist to the story. I love Vampire Diaries. I love Damon, Stefan, Elena, Bonnie, and the other characters but I wish Meredith was also in the show. I think it would also get even more unique. I am interested how Meredith would play in the show if she was in the show now. I am curious if Katherine would actually be coming! XD! I cant wait till the next episode! And……… BRING MEREDITH IN THE SHOW plzzzzzz.

I absolutely love Bonnie..she’s a much better character than Elena. And if she wasn’t a friend she wouldn’t have risked her Grandmas life to safe the Stefan. She’ll bounce back, she’s only grieving. They’re probably only trying to make us hate her character so she doesn’t overshadow Elena or because of the growing fans that want to see bonnieXdamon together. i think i can understand where bonnie is coming from. not just because of her grandmother. she’s not in love with stefan, and just when she was thinking she might be able to trust him, he goes nuts and tries to kill that barbie-looking girl.
and damon is obviously not somone who’s going to inspire trust, neither are the tomb vampires that she’s heard of. she doesn’t know about anna and pearl, for example, who she might be able to relate to. she just knows that vampires, even when they mean well, can be very dangerous to the people she loves. i can see how she might want to keep a way to kill them around in case of emergencies. it wasn’t the best way to do it, but i think i can understand her pov.
as for isobel… she’s interesting. it’s kinda weird that she chose to become a vampire but doesn’t want her daughter involved with them. maybe her love for her daughter is the last piece of humanity she has… maybe the maternal instinct is so strong that it even shows up somewhat when she turns off her emotions. i’d like to see more of how that works.
but isobel herself is dangerous, so if she wants to protect elena she should leave. and she might have lead katherine there. not to mention that, as a mother, trying to forbid your daughter to date someone NEVER works.
