As most TVD fans know, the series began with L.J. Smith’s first novel, The Awakening. The first season of TVD on TV covers some of what’s featured in the first book, but if you’re intrigued by the intense love triangles in the show, The Awakening and L.J’s second book, The Struggle, will give you more to sink your teeth into. In the show, Stefan has come to Fell’s Church (not Mystic Falls) to find Elena. He claims, “He has to know her.” But in the books, it’s Elena who’s after Stefan…and Damon who spots Elena first. (Finders keepers? You’ll have to read and find out).
If you can’t get enough of Damon in the show, you will love the way his character mysteriously develops and casts his spell on Elena in the books. In fact, there’s a lot to love about the books. Find them here, and tell us what you think.

After watching “The Turning Point” we were shocked and thrilled before we went into immediate withdrawal at the thought of NO MORE NEW EPISODES UNTIL JANUARY!?!
Then we collected ourselves and exclaimed, “Selves, this is the perfect time to truly savor the TVD we already have!” We’ll practically study the TVD marathon when it airs for five amazing nights in a row from December 14th – 18th. And we’ll finally make time to read and re-read the L.J. Smith books that inspired the show to begin with!
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL! We need you to help us survive these cold and epie-free weeks . . . and we’re looking for suggestions. Are there TVD book or show-related topics you’re dying to discuss? Should each day of the week be devoted to a particular book, epie, character or theme? What are you dying to chat about, learn about, and share with other TVD fans like you?

SPOILER ALERT: This entry is for those of us who’ve already watched the latest TVD.

We thought last week’s episode was epic . . . but “The Turning Point” blew us away. Logan was psychotic. Damon was toyed with. Tyler was vulnerable. Alaric was . . . well, we’re still not sure. And Elena and Stefan gave us everything we’d hoped for . . . until it all fell apart. But, by far, the most shocking thing that happened tonight was the reanimation of whomever it was that Elena collided with.
The question is…what was that . . . and what happens next? Any predictions?

Elena’s aunt Jenna doesn’t have the best luck with men. Her nightmare ex, Logan, for instance, tries to invite himself back into her life (and across her threshhold) at the most inopportune moments. And this time, there’s definitely something more sinister about him. In fact, the new Logan makes Damon look like . . . well, like Stefan. And then there’s Alaric. Got an opinion about which guy she should run from first?
We’ll all know better after tonight’s TVD ep, at 8/7c on the CW. Will you be watching?

Elena and Stefan’s relationship has been anything but normal, but what do you expect from a couple who met in a cemetery?
