What’s next in Fell’s Church?

In L.J. Smith’s first three books, we are confronted with vampires, witches, and even spirits of the past.  Not enough for you?  Well, in Dark Reunion, a werewolf enters the picture.

We don’t want to give too much away, in case you haven’t gotten a chance to pick up Smith’s fourth novel, but we’ll give you this: “…his red tongue lolled among the rows of long canine teeth.  His face wasn’t a face anymore.  It jutted out grotesquely into a muzzle, and his eyes were yellow, with slitlike pupils.” Curious? Unfortunately, if we told you who this description is of, it might ruin the surprise – but doesn’t it make you want to read the book?

Vampires…Witches…Spirits…Werewolves.  If you had to choose one, which species would you like to see more of in Fell’s Church?

Unpredictable Damon

Way back in The Fury, Elena admits that, when it comes to Damon, she thinks “there is more to him than there appears to be.” Meaning … she thinks he actually has some feelings.  We agree.

This is especially true in Dark Reunion. Everyone is VERY hesitant to trust Damon.  But there are moments in the novel when Damon proves that he isn’t pure evil and can be loyal—at times.

Damon’s glimmers of goodness have inspired us to make a list of all of his random acts of vampy kindness, but we need your help!  Can you think of any moments in the books or on the show when he’s surprised his critics by doing something surprisingly nice?

What is it about Elena?

The above quote about Stefan and Elena clearly shows the impact Elena has had on Stefan’s life.  For hundreds of years, no one could get to Stefan’s heart—until he met Elena.  We have to wonder though: what is it about Elena that allows her to break through all of Stefan’s boundaries and defenses?  Something must separate her from all the millions of other girls Stefan has encountered …

Of course, she is a dead ringer for the former love of his life, but that can’t be all it is.  What do you think Elena has that makes Stefan so crazy about her?

Fell’s Church

“But why?” said Bonnie. “Why would anything evil just happen to pick here?  Haven’t we been through enough?”

In the fourth TVD book, Dark Reunion, the question of why there’s SO much trouble in Fell’s Church (a.k.a. Mystic Falls) is finally addressed.  Stefan explains to Bonnie, Meredith, and Matt that evil is attracted to Fell’s Church due to “unquiet spirits.” And, of course, nobody in town attracts evilness quite like Elena and friends.

Bonnie, Meredith, and Matt could leave Fell’s Church or – for once – let someone else deal with all the bad vamps and restless spirits. They could. But they never do. They can’t seem to quit all the drama – or each other. Do you think they’re sort of addicted to the supernatural? I mean, how boring would their lives be if they moved to some town full of mortal vegetarians?

Matt and Bonnie

Starting in The Awakening, Bonnie openly admits that she yearns to find herself a steady love interest.  Well, as it turns out, sometimes what you’re searching for is right in front of you … and, for Bonnie, that something looks like it might be Matt Honeycutt.

We don’t want to give too much away, but if you’ve read Dark Reunion, then you might have noticed their growing chemistry.  Most people may think developing a crush on your best friend’s ex-BF would be a bad idea, but we think Matt and Bonnie both deserve to finally have someone special to care about.

We want YOUR opinion!  Would you like Matt and Bonnie to make things official or do you prefer them as just friends?
