We can’t wait for the return of Nina Dobrev as Elena in the 2nd season of The Vampire Dairies (this Thursday at 8/7c!) … so of course we loved catching a glimpse of her at the 2010 Emmy Awards! Did you see her dancing and singing with Jimmy Fallon and the cast of Glee in the award show’s big opening number?

Tonight at 8/7c on the CW, The Vampire Diaries returns, and so does Elena’s birth mother. It looks like this mother-daughter reunion won’t exactly be warm and fuzzy. But what can you expect when your mother’s a vampire and your boyfriend’s brother is the blood-sucker who turned her? Maybe Isobel is just passing through in honor of Mother’s Day. Or maybe she’s the latest addition to Mystic Falls’ growing list of permanent vampire residents. If you were Elena, what would you prefer?

This video isn’t exactly new—it was shot before Elena knew the truth—but, just the same, we wanted to share it with you. We’ve often wondered what it’s like to be Elena. Now, after watching this video, we’re thinking we’d rather be Nina (except maybe when Ian and Paul get into creepy vamp-character).
