We’ve discussed once before how book Elena and television Elena are quite different. Now that we think about it though, each of the novels in L.J. Smith’s TVD series seem to show us a new Elena: Queen Bee Elena (The Awakening), Devoted Girlfriend Elena (The Struggle), Vampy Elena (The Fury), and, now since we’re onto The Dark Reunion, Spirit Elena.
No matter what Elena has become, she always maintains some key qualities . . . her ability to be a loyal friend, her determination to get what she wants, and, of course, her beauty.
Elena is obviously one of our absolute favorite characters in every book, but is there a “face of Elena” in any particular TVD book that you like reading about the most?

To answer your question, Carlaa, it comes out on May, 11 2011. Also, regarding the article, I think the two “Elenas” are two totally different characters. Not only in appeareence, but also in personality.

Alice I have to agree with you. I like both Elena’s. So it’s hard to choose which face is the best. I don’t know about everyone else, but I can’t wait until The Return: Midnight comes out! I just finished The Return: Shadow Soul! It was so good that I couldn’t put it down.

I actually think tv-series Elena and book Elena is quite similar, at least from the point where book Elena has met Stefan ’cause that when she becomes this version of Elena they have chosen to have all the time in the tv-series.

I actually like the tv Elena better, at least better than the first 2 book Elena’s. I found the queen bee Elena somewhat annoying and the TV Elena is more real and Nina Dobrev does a great job of portraying her. The last book, The Shadow Souls I think had the best Elena of all the books, that was my favourite book. Damon was also my favourite character in that book as well, I liked the change in his character and the vulnerability of him.

I also like the TV Elena better. Forgive me Elena lovers, but I thought she was very selfish in the books. She didn’t care who she hurt in the process of getting what she wanted. Take Matt for example, she used him and only felt a little regret. The TV Elena much more caring and relatable, for me at least.

I agree with Alice that the tv Elena and the book Elena are totally different and I love both very much but the book Elena is a little bit better.I can’t wait to The Return:Midnight i also want to see who Elena chooses Stefan or Damon!!!!!!!!
